New Year Poem
A new year awaits,
Make it your own.
So the end is near,
All wraps up,
For another year.
And we bid fairwell,
To ways of the old.
And embark on futures,
True and bold.
Because the new year waits,
Awaits your attention.
So it’s not a big deal,
But well worth a mention.
The confusions and upsets,
Swiftly disgarded.
Consider your changes,
since the last year started.
Resolutions succeeded,
Or tasks incomplete.
Whether victorious,
or run down in defeat.
The things you set out to do,
The dips and perks.
You can size it all up,
And decide on what works.
Travel a far,
Or hangout with friends.
You could spend time with family,
It all depends.
Quickly give thoughts,
To the way it panned out.
What made you upset,
Or put you in doubt?
Whether thrown off by failing car,
Or lost in despair,
A few new facial lines,
Or increase in grey hair.
Some idiot at the supermarket,
Invading your space.
Or the curse of crunch,
laughing in your face.
The twit in your work place,
with no idea.
Fobbing off work,
So he’s left in the clear.
The mound of bills,
Yet to be paid.
The unfair balance,
When everything’s weighed.
Perhaps you broke a leg,
Or been delivered bad news.
Put on the kettle,
Brush off the blues.
The new year awaits,
You can make it your own.
Stop for a moment,
Decide on new aim.
Gather your wishes,
Make a new name.
Do much more,
That will help you achieve.
it’s not about faith,
Or what you believe.
It’s simply focus,
And gaining control,
Life is a stage,
And this is your role.
Find productive ways,
You can reach what you desire.
Make creative changes,
To reach even higher.
A new year awaits now.
Make it your own.
